Overview
This is the synthetic form of vitamin E, labelled dl-alpha-tocopherol or all rac-alpha-tocopherol, and Health Canada lists it as a vitamin E source. It contains a mix of eight stereoisomers and is only half as active by weight as the natural form. Vitamin E is a fat soluble antioxidant, and large amounts taken with warfarin or other blood thinners can raise the risk of bleeding.
Also called: All-rac-Alpha-Tocopherol, Synthetic Vitamin E
